Our Story

Ted and Mary met at a mutual friend's wedding back in August 2021. Ted approached Mary, and the two had a brief, and as they put it, "awkward" conversation. Neither of them felt a spark towards the other, but as Ted walked away from Mary, Mary was overcome with this feeling that came out of nowhere, that Ted was going to be her future husband. But for the time being, Ted returned to Dallas, where he was attending college at UD, and Mary continued to live in Ann Arbor. Even though Mary didn't find their first interaction anything to write home about, she couldn't shake that undeniable feeling that she was going to marry Ted, so she decided to start praying intentionally for Ted every single day. Fast forward a year, and Ted graduated from UD and decided to take a job back in MI. Mary and Ted started hanging out with the same friend group and would occasionally be at the same social events, but only had a few brief conversations over the course of the year. But in October of 2023, Mary felt like she wanted to get to know Ted better. She started feeling more drawn to him, but Mary preferred a more intimate encounter to truly get to know him because the party encounters were clearly not working. So, with guidance from her brother-in-law, Mary mustered up the courage to ask Ted out on a date at the beginning of October 2023. Ted was surprised to receive the text but felt like if a girl had enough courage to ask a guy out, she deserved a shot. So, Ted replied that he would go on a date, and he quickly took over and planned the whole night. They both went into that first date with no real expectations... but to their surprise, they were both very impressed by the other and had a great first date! After that, Ted continued to ask Mary out, which led to the happiest next eight months of their lives. And on June 8, 2024, Ted asked Mary for her hand in marriage... and she said, "YES!"
